Can players switch teams and destroy your vehicles in WARDOGS?

We took a warehouse, asked our own team to knock a couple of walls down so the APC could get in, and a bloke called Lion answered by building walls around us. Layers upon layers of them. That's the game right now.

Can players switch teams and destroy your own vehicles in WARDOGS?

Yes, and it's happening. Over the nights leading into Tuesday 29 September 2026 PapaKow watched players change teams, walk to our vehicles, C4 them, and then change straight back to the team they came from. That is the lowest of low. It's not a fight you can lose — it's a fight you never got.

How often it's happening across the whole player base is not measured. I can only tell you it happened to us on several occasions in the one stretch of nights, on OCE, at 19 ms from Brisbane.

What counts as griefing in WARDOGS?

Right now I'd put the epidemic ahead of the cheating, and it looks like this:

  • Team swapping to blow up your own side's vehicles, then swapping back.
  • Coming into a base that's being built and burning every resource on nothing. Walls inside your own base. Walls that do nothing.
  • Team killing, and then hunting streamers specifically. I've seen players post up their channel in a lobby and get griefed and team killed for it.

I'm careful with the word. A solo player camping a hill is not griefing, that's just a playstyle I don't enjoy. Destroying your own team's APC on purpose is not a playstyle.

The warehouse, and what we had to do about Lion

We'd taken a warehouse and needed a couple of walls down to get the APC inside. As we're knocking them down, Lion is building them back — layers upon layers upon layers. We told him to stop. Asked what he was doing. He just kept going.

So we team killed him. I'm not proud of it and I'd do it again.

Then a teammate jumped out of the APC to help us finish the walls, and in that window Lion respawned inside the vehicle, got in the APC and tried to team kill everyone in the room. Everyone shooting him, reviving him, not reviving him, just so he couldn't respawn again. We got him out, decided the APC wasn't coming into the base at all, and he spent the rest of the game driving it into the enemy hot zone and circling it back at us while we were building oil rigs.

We won that game. That was the lesson.

What would actually fix it?

Tighter rules on changing teams, for a start. If swapping sides mid-match is what makes the C4 trick possible, then swapping sides mid-match is the thing to look at — not the C4.

The other half of it is the one I want for selfish reasons. I can play with up to 10 different guys in a night and get split across different games and different teams. Give me the option to be in the same game, on the same team, as the blokes I'm playing with, and half of these nights are pleasant by default. Some of the games this week would have been completely different if we were all together.

And this is early access, which cuts both ways. Loopholes get found because the game is new and people are still learning it. My frustration is with the behaviour, not with anyone who's still figuring the game out — most of the lobby is. But it made me realise there's still a lot of work to do: dial the setup in before each game, tighten up team changes, and get to fair play across the board.

At the moment it feels chaotic. The core is there, and then a handful of fringe players ruin a night for everyone who just wanted to play the thing.

If you got griefed this week, bring it to The Clutch Club Discord — I'd rather know whether it's everywhere or just my luck.

You gotta stay gaming.
