Are the WARDOGS OCE servers getting less stable?

The ping is still good and the stability is not. I'm PapaKow, I play WARDOGS from Brisbane, and I measured 19 ms on OCE Server #96 across the two nights before 29 September 2026 and 19 ms again on OCE Server #7 on the night of 29 September. Same number, two different servers. Nineteen from Brisbane is a great result. What's changed is everything that happens after the ping.

On #96 I copped a big lag spike that froze the game outright, then dropped me straight back into it like nothing happened. On #7 I was rubber banding all over the server at one point. It was pretty crazy. And on #96 the Uris supply truck kept breaking on me as I drove — slight brakes every 20 to 30 m, the whole run in. Very frustrating when you're trying to get supplies inside the walls.

Is it the server or is it my connection?

I don't know yet, and I'm not going to pretend I do. Here's the honest split. The truck stutter and the freeze on #96, I'm assuming everyone in that lobby was getting the same thing, because the server side has not been the greatest for the past few days. The rubber banding on #7 is different — nobody else in the lobby said a word about it. That might have been just my end. I haven't measured packet loss on my line, so that's not measured yet, and I'll record it with a date the next time it happens rather than guess at it now.

That's the thing a ping number can't tell you. 19 ms says the distance to the server is fine. It says nothing about whether the server is keeping up once 60-odd players are building, driving and raiding on it.

Are other players seeing the same thing?

Yes, and they were seeing it before I was. On the Steam discussions players have been posting about rubber banding and yellow and red network warnings since about 11 September, including the specific complaint that the server browser shows them under 50 ms and then in-game they're sitting at 300 to 400. Those are other players' reports, not my numbers — my in-game figure has stayed at 19 on both servers this week. But it does tell you this isn't one Australian bloke with a bad router.

So what do you do about it tonight?

Not a lot, and I'd be careful with anyone selling you a fix. Search "WARDOGS lag" and you'll get page after page from people who have never loaded the game, telling you to buy a tunnelling client. If your ping to an OCE server is already under 50, the route isn't your problem and a booster isn't your answer. Play the numbered OCE servers, note which server number you were on when it went bad, and report it. Bulkhead's own enforcement page makes the point that reports tell them where to point the detection — same logic applies to stability.

I'm going to watch this one through to the end of the week and measure it properly, server number and date attached, rather than call it after two rough nights. The core of the game is still there. This is early access and the moving parts need oiling. If it's still wobbly on Saturday I'll say so here with the numbers.

You gotta stay gaming.
